Lynn Atkinson

My inspiration mainly comes from old architecture, stone and wood carving, ironwork, walls and interesting features of derelict buildings. Travelling to other countries, seeing exhibitions, traditions and cultures gives a vast range to work from.

I enjoy both hand and machine embroidery, layering fabrics between sheers, painting, then cutting back revealing different textures.

I get great pleasure from using paints and dyes, never knowing what will result, some disasters when re-treated, can turn into wonderful successes.
